The Role

Join our growing Assistive Technology team and help shape the future of independent living in Hertfordshire.

We're looking for a practical, hands-on individual with a passion for technology and a desire to make a difference in people’s lives. As an Assistive Technologies Technician, you’ll play a key role in developing, repairing, and supporting the use of technology that enables older and vulnerable residents to live safely and independently.

Whether you're just starting out or building on existing experience, this career-graded post offers a brilliant opportunity to grow your expertise in a service that’s rapidly evolving. From programming telecare equipment to managing stock and supporting our equipment remanufacturing programme, no two days are the same.

You’ll also have the chance to get involved in product development, attend specialist events, and support out-of-hours services as part of our on-call rota. In return, we offer full training, a supportive team environment, and the chance to be part of something genuinely impactful.

A full driving licence is essential, as the role involves travel across Hertfordshire using our fleet of electric vehicles.

The Experience you will bring

You’ll have a practical mindset and an interest in technology, ideally with experience repairing or working with electronic or computer equipment. Whether you’ve worked in a technical role, a care environment, or somewhere that combines both, you’ll be comfortable learning new systems and solving problems as they arise.

You’ll bring a genuine interest in supporting older or vulnerable people, alongside good communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a wider team. You may have worked with assistive technologies before — or you might bring transferable skills and a curiosity to learn.

Basic computer literacy is essential, and if you’ve used tools, carried out risk assessments, or managed stock systems before, all the better. Most importantly, you’ll be reliable, adaptable, and ready to make a positive impact through your work.

Please note, the successful applicant for the above post will be background checked with the Disclosure and Barring Service.
