TSA acknowledges Sir Keir Starmer’s announcement today on the abolishment of NHS England and its return to ‘democratic control’ under the Department for Health and Social Care. While we await further details on the practical implications of this move, we remain optimistic about the potential to strengthen the alignment between health and social care.
TSA continues to champion the government’s three key shifts for the NHS - moving care closer to communities, driving digital transformation, and prioritising prevention over treatment. We will actively engage with DHSC to ensure the TEC sector’s voice is heard and that technology enabled care remains central to shaping a modern, sustainable healthcare system.
While recognising the challenges ahead, including potential job losses, we must focus on unlocking the systemic barriers that have hindered truly proactive, preventive, and personalised care. Above all, we express our deep gratitude to NHS England staff for their unwavering dedication, especially through the pandemic.
TSA remains committed to working collaboratively across health, social care, and government to drive forward the innovation and change needed to deliver better outcomes for people, communities, and the workforce. We will continue to monitor developments closely and provide further insights as more details emerge.
